Manufactured as part of the Yale brand, this high quality, popular Rim Nightlatch (Slam Lock) is ideally suited to glazed or panelled wood doors with narrower stile widths. The latchbolt can be held back in the withdrawn position or deadlocked using the internal snib rendering the lock inoperable by key or inside turn. In addition the cylinder "Deadlocking" function allows the lock to be deadlocked externally by a full turn of the key. The lock is non-handed to suit left hand or right hand applications without modification.
Available in a choice of either Polished Chrome or Satin chrome with matching external key cylinders. Suitable external cylinders in other finishes can be purchased from the relevant store section.
All of our rim nightlatches are supplied to suit inward opening doors as standard. Outward opening doors can be accomodated by reversing the latchbolt and fitting with an appropriate, alternative striking plate - please refer to the Related Items section below.
Note that this nightlatch is supplied with the manufacturer's standard security 5 pin round rim cylinder complete with 3 keys. Alternative higher security grade cylinders, cylinders with additional keys and cylinders keyed alike can be purchased from the relevant store section.
For best results and long life, the internal moving parts of this lock should be lubricated with a light machine oil at least once a year. The external cylinder will benefit from the application a specialist lock spray or good quality graphite powder - do NOT use oils or WD40.
