Cast in solid brass this surface mounted Rim Lock has straight, plain edges for a clean, uncluttered look. Use in conjunction with compatible rim knob furniture sets to provide an attractive, high quality finish to any period town house or country dwelling.
This rim lock is handed Left or Right and care should be taken to select the correct hand when ordering - please refer to the technical handing image above (lock image is shown Left Hand). All of our rim locks and latches are designed for surface fitting to the opening face of doors (pull side). They are NOT suitable for fitting to the closing face (push side).
This lock MUST be fitted with door knobs that are specifically designed for use with rim locks and latches. These will generally be described as being "Rim" pattern. NOT suitable for use with "Mortice" pattern knob sets or lever type door handles.
For best results and long life, this lock should be lubricated with a light machine oil at least once a year.
One rim lock as described complete with frame keep and traditional countersunk slotted fixing screws for wood in matching finish.
