Satin Stainless Steel (SSS)Stainless steel has become a popular choice for ironmongery products in both commercial and residential buildings due to it's durability and excellent corrosion resistant properties. Satin Stainless Steel offers a low sheen, 'grained' finish with mellow hues that works well in contemporary settings. Depending on the product type, our standard stainless steel products are manufactured from either SUS201 (for certain hinge types) or architectural grade SUS304 material: SUS201 grade is suitable for general internal applications and for use externally in passive environments. SUS304 offers greater protection against corrosion and can be used for the majority of applications both internally and externally. For extra high quality applications, extreme locations (coastal areas, polluted city environments etc) or for use with acidic timbers, we recommend our Marine Grade SUS316 stainless steel products. Products fitted externally will benefit from an occasional wipe with an oily rag to remove dirt and grime deposits. Where items are not available in this finish we recommend using products in Satin Nickel or Satin Chrome, both of which offer a good match.  |
