Manufactured in Britain from quality materials for over 100 years, this pressed steel Rim Lock is an ideal choice for the simple locking of internal or external doors where higher security locks are not required. Finished in Dull Black, the lock is non-handed to suit left hand or right hand applications without modification and can be used with any compatible rim knob furniture set.
An ideal companion for any of our Berlin Black knob sets when an austere, municipal look is desired or use with our unlacquered brass Cottage Knob furniture on ledged and braced doors.
This lock MUST be fitted with door knobs that are specifically designed for use with rim locks and latches. These will generally be described as being "Rim" pattern. NOT suitable for use with "Mortice" pattern knob sets or lever type door handles.
All of our rim locks and latches are designed for surface fitting to the opening face of doors (pull side). They are NOT suitable for fitting to the closing face (push side).
For best results and long life, this lock should be lubricated with a light machine oil at least once a year.
